DESCRIPTION:
French gilt bronze, attached to marble base, figural 8 day time and strike mantel clock, c1890
CONDITION:
the gilding is still in very nice condition on this heavy ornate case, and the veined marble base is fine. The porcelain dial has one hairline and some small losses at the side mounting screws. There was originally a glass dome, so there never was a front hinged bezel. The movement, with a Vincenti Medaille D'Argent stamp, strikes every half hour with count wheel and bell, and needs a pendulum. Ht 13"
